I would like to welcome you back for a fresh new college year. The Institutional Advancement Division is busy as always maintaining campus technology, writing grants, fundraising, tracking and researching data and marketing the college. I would like to update you on a few happenings in our division.

We now have two wireless hotspots on campus at the Student Center and the Library. Usage directions can be found at both locations.

A new VOIP (voice over IP) phone system will be installed this fall which will provide us the most advanced phone system available. A professional development session will be provided to assist us in learning to use the new system.

Wallace State has partnered with Apple to introduce the Ipod to our campus. An Ipod committee has been established to bring this new and exciting technology to our faculty and students. Equipment has been purchased and instructors have volunteered to pilot the effort this fall.

The Future Foundation will hold its annual Luncheon and Auction on October 24th. Our Culinary Arts students will prepare a food extravaganza, the Wallace State Singers will perform as supporters of the college bid on jewelry, furniture, trips and more. Tickets may be purchased through the Institutional Advancement Office on JBC 10th floor.

The Cullman Times will host a cooking school provided by the popular magazine Taste of Home, on Saturday October 28th at the Coliseum.

If you are not yet a member of the Alumni Association, it may be time to think about joining. The membership includes various benefits such as a discount card for local businesses and restaurants.

Those in need of an updated employee identification badge may see Sharon Harris on JBC 10th floor. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

If our division may make your job easier or assist you in any way, please feel free to call on us.
